At the end of 2018, I was asked by the artist Maurizio Bongiovanni to take on the role of art director and designer of a new space for the arts called Metodo Milano. Located in a suburb of the city of Milan, Metodo Milano is an off-space created in an active garage. The exhibitions were presented in an unused tunnel that connected the garage to the city street. Metodo quickly attracted the attention of Milanese artists and art lovers and became a must-see event in the city.

My work has been the shaping of the visual identity of the space.
Starting from the name and its recognizable double M, I decided to create a logo that emphasizes Metodo’s underground soul.
Like a metro stop called MM, or a sign for a garage. The whole concept was to build a block-like aesthetic, modular elements that can move and nest together.

I created a double-sided brochure, printed on A5 paper, with a layout that allows the reader to read the information as the paper is folded. Starting with a small A5 section presenting the title, opening the paper reveals the rest of the contents – logo, exhibition text, and a few images from the exhibition. On the back, a full-page image turns the brochure into a small poster.

I have created also a series of posters in A2 size to be printed and hung at the entrance of the exhibition space, I’ve also covered all the communication strategies for social media like Instagram.
